About Mazi Church

About Mazi church

The Gospel isn’t just about spiritual enrichment – it’s a catalyst for thriving in every facet of life. Mazi is more than just a gathering; it’s a deliberate move to encourage you to bring the Gospel’s influence into every aspect of your life. Afterall, we were never meant to sit behind walls talking about Jesus. We were meant to believe in Jesus and live like we believe in Jesus. We’re not just hosting an event, we’re extending a hand, and an opportunity to be part of something deeper and more life-giving.

Gospel Forward

Being Gospel Forward means that we are focused on Jesus and His message above everything else. Our priority is to share the Good News of salvation through Christ with all people, regardless of their background or life experiences. We believe that the Gospel has the power to transform lives for the better and we are dedicated to making it known.

Community Driven

"Mazi" means "together!" We believe that life is better together, and life is better MAZI! Because of this, we believe that you were created for relationships. We are not meant to live in isolation. We place a high value on building relationships with others and creating a sense of belonging within our church community and beyond the walls of our church.

Kingdom Minded

We want to see the Gospel Fluency grow in our community. Gospel Fluency is our ability to understand and live out the Gospel in our daily lives. We want to be a part of the work God is doing in this world. And we are excited for the Kingdom of God expanding anywhere God sees fit. Through prayer and petition, we are devoted to helping this vision become a reality by supporting surrounding churches wherever possible, working alongside nonprofits and churches in the area who are serving those in our community. We also are devoting finances from our budget for future generations of church planters.

Devoted

We want to help you engage with what God is doing in our community. Another way to say it is we're not here to feed you. We're here to help you learn to use your fork! We believe Spiritual growth comes in many different steps and we’d love to help you take your next step. With that, we're devoted to living in a way that reflects the way Jesus calls us to live individually and as a community. This means contributing, and not just consuming. We believe that Jesus' example of humility and servanthood should be reflected in our attitudes and actions towards others and we aim to serve one another with genuine love, compassion, and grace like Jesus did.

Radical Generosity

We practice Generosity by giving generously of our time, talents and resources to help those in need. We believe that generosity is a tangible expression of God's love and an act of obedience. Through our generosity we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

What We Believe

God

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God in His grace, has a mission to redemption for anyone who believes in His son.

Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:1-2; Isaiah 6:3; Matthew 3:16-17; 5:48; 28:19-20; John 17:24; Romans 16:25-27; Colossians 1:15-17; 1 Peter 1:20; Revelation 21:1, 5

Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, a divine revelation without error communicated through the words of human authors, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is an authoritative source in all matters of faith.

Isaiah 40:8; Isaiah 55:8-11; Matthew 22:29; Luke 1:1-4; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 John 2:5-6

Humanity

We believe that all men and women are created in the image of God and are therefore highly valued by God. Through our sinful disobedience, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and the wages of that sin is death. Our salvation is found in the belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:26,27; 3:1-6; Matthew 25:41; Romans 3:23; 5:12,15,19; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-2; Revelation 20:14-15

Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a righteous and sinless life, was crucified, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our high priest, intercessor, and advocate. We believe there is no other way to righteousness, except through belief in Jesus.

Isaiah 7:14; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:18; John 1:1-2, 4; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 2:17-18; 4:15; 7:25; 1 John 2:1-2.

Atonement

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, as our atonement, for the forgiveness of our sins. He rose from the grave to secure our justification. By grace He provides salvation for all who believe in Him, justifying them through His shed blood and all-sufficient sacrifice that brings reconciliation with God.

Isaiah 53:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 9:22, 26-28; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 4:10; Revelation 5:9

Salvation

We believe the only way we can personally receive the salvation, forgiveness, righteousness, and justification God offers us is by His grace alone through our faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. There is no other way to be redeemed; our good works cannot earn the righteousness of God.

Genesis 15:6; John 1:12-13; 3:16-17; 14:6; Romans 4:23-24; 5:1; 10:9-10, 13; Galatians 2:15-16; 3:26; Ephesians 2:4-9; 2 Timothy 1:9-10

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit, present at creation, was sent by God to be active and present among us. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and encourages our faith. He convicts, regenerates, indwells, guides, teaches, and empowers the believer to become more like Christ, equipping every Christian for service with spiritual gifts. We believe the Holy Spirit is active and the fruits of the Spirit are evidence of a life devoted to the discipleship of Jesus.

Genesis 1:1-2; John 15:26; 16:7-8,13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; 12:11; Galatians 5:16-17; Titus 3:4-7

Sanctification

We believe that all believers are on a constant journey toward sanctification which begins at their belief in Jesus’ death and resurrection, and continues until we leave this earth. We believe all believers should strive to live for Christ in obedience to the Word of God and not for themselves. We acknowledge life is a journey and everyone grows and matures at different rates. In light of this, God commands us to love Him and others. Our faith expresses itself through spiritual growth in godly character, good works, and inviting others to know and follow Jesus by our belief, actions, and words.

Matthew 22:36-40; John 14:15; Romans 8:12-13; Romans 10:13-15; Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 2:10; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; 2 Peter 3:8

The Church

We believe the mission of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and making disciples among all people by presenting the Gospel clearly with boldness and grace.

Matthew 28:19-20; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 27; Ephesians 4:3-6; Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 10:24-25

The Future

We believe that Jesus is coming back and because of that, we need to do all we can to help others know Jesus and experience his redemptive power.

Isaiah 65:17; Matthew 24:36; John 5:28-29; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:12-14; Hebrews 9:27-28; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:1-5; Revelation 22:7
